Some students and parents may have recently seen a data upload that contains class information for the start of the school year. Parents and students are advised that this is a preliminary upload only, and not the final class list information. Teacher assignments, balancing course sections, and students’ schedules are still under revision and will continue to change right up until school commences. Students will receive their actual timetable on the first day of school.
All grade 9, 10 and 11 students should have eight courses on their schedule. If your son/daughter’s schedule does not have eight courses, he/she is asked to report to their guidance counsellor at lunch, before or after school, or at the time when the blank appears in his/her schedule.
All grade 12 students should have a minimum of six courses on their schedule. If your son/daughter’s schedule does not have at least six courses, he/she is asked to report to their guidance counsellor at lunch, before or after school, or at the time when the blank appears in his/her schedule.
What should students do if they want to make a change to their schedule?
Students are requested to follow the timetable they received until any necessary changes have been made. Students requesting a change to their schedule are asked to meet their guidance counsellor in the Atrium at lunch, before, or after school to pick up a yellow course change form. No changes will be made to schedules without a parent signature. Course changes will be done based on space availability and on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
If a student submitted a yellow course change form in the spring of 2015 and the change is not reflected on their schedule, it could mean that: (1) the change was not possible given their other course choices, or (2) the requested course is full and the student has been added to the wait list.
PLEASE NOTE: No changes will be made to grade 9 and 10 elective courses.
Changes for all other courses will be made during the first ten school days. September 21 will be the last day for course changes in semester one.
