This week was special in that we were able to share in the all the drama that unfolded on the ice and snow in Milan/Cortina.
The Olympics hold a special place in our Sacred Heart community, knowing the road to Erika Wiebe's 2016 Gold Medal in wrestling started in the cafeteria at Sacred Heart!

Call for Volunteers: JA Economics for Success:
On Friday, March 27, Sacred Heart will host JA Economics for Success for our Grade 8 students. This 2.5-hour in-class program helps students explore career options, understand post-secondary opportunities, and develop practical budgeting skills for the future.
How You Can Help
We are looking for parent and community volunteers to help facilitate these interactive sessions. No previous experience is required, as JA Ottawa provides all necessary training.
Volunteer Requirements:
Sign-up Deadline: Friday, February 27.
Training: Attend a 1-hour virtual orientation to review program materials.
Resources: Volunteers will have access to digital slides and a physical activity kit to use in the classroom.

Summer School Preview 2026
Dates: July 2 – July 23, 2026
Registration: Registration will officially open on March 13th, 2026.
Hours: Summer school hours: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
In-Person Reach Ahead Locations: St. Pius X Catholic High School (Central) and St. Matthew Catholic High School (East).
Credit Recovery: St. Pius X, St. Mother Teresa, St. Patrick, St. Matthew, and Holy Trinity.
Skills Builder Courses: English Numeracy & Literacy Support or Core French Literacy Support will be offered at St. Pius X and St. Matthew.
Indigenous Education: This will be offered at St. Pius X.
Conversational English & Literacy Development: Offered at St. Pius X, this is a 55-hour non-credit course for students entering Grades 9-12 who are beginner multilingual learners (ELD and ESL AO/BO) and have not yet earned a mainstream English credit.
Course Requirements: All courses are dependent on enrolment. Students are required to bring their own laptop.
EQAO Math Night for Parents and Guardians - Tuesday, February 24, 2026 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Join us for a free live webinar where EQAO staff will discuss math questions that Ontario students encounter when they participate in Ontario’s large-scale assessments. These assessments are taken by all Ontario students in Grades 3, 6 and 9. During the webinar, EQAO staff will show how these math questions help assess the skills students are learning in their math classes. Staff will also share valuable insights from EQAO research into assessment results, which can help parents and guardians support their children’s math learning. Click here to register
