Information about the course selection process for next year has been communicated via presentations to students and parents.

Opt Out Information
Opt-out information was sent via the board to your email address. If you do not want your student (grade 4 - 12) to participate, the opt-out period is from Mon, Feb 2nd - Fri, Feb 13th, through this link. This will ensure your student does not have access to the survey. Additionally, on the day of the census, your student can choose not to participate in the entire survey or specific questions in the survey.
Grade 8 Attendance Reports:
Starting this month, we will begin mailing monthly attendance updates for our 7th and 8th-grade students. Please note that these letters are intended to be informative tools to help families stay updated. If you notice any discrepancies, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher.
Grade 12s will have an assembly on Feb. 11, 2026 during period 2.
Grade 12s are reminded that the college application deadline is Feb. 1, 2025.
Grade 12s are also encouraged to complete their grad resumes through the Grad Awards workspace. As well, they need to pay attention to any upcoming deadlines for portfolios, specific tests, supplementary essays, etc that are required by their post-secondary institutions.
Grade 6 Tours of Sacred Heart
Parents of students in Grade 6 at Holy Spirit, Guardian Angels, St Philip and St Stephen will receive communications next week about the plan for transitioning students from Grade 6 to Grade 7. The email will come from the elementary school. If you know parents who are considering moving to Sacred Heart from another school - now is the time to register to ensure adequate staffing is accounted for.
Grad Photos: Retakes & Missed
This is the last opportunity to have a Grad Photo taken and to get their Grad Photo in the yearbook and the Class Composite.

Summer School Preview 2026
Dates: July 2 – July 23, 2026
Registration: Registration will officially open on March 13th, 2026.
Hours: Summer school hours: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
In-Person Reach Ahead Locations: St. Pius X Catholic High School (Central) and St. Matthew Catholic High School (East).
Credit Recovery: St. Pius X, St. Mother Teresa, St. Patrick, St. Matthew, and Holy Trinity.
Skills Builder Courses: English Numeracy & Literacy Support or Core French Literacy Support will be offered at St. Pius X and St. Matthew.
Indigenous Education: This will be offered at St. Pius X.
Conversational English & Literacy Development: Offered at St. Pius X, this is a 55-hour non-credit course for students entering Grades 9-12 who are beginner multilingual learners (ELD and ESL AO/BO) and have not yet earned a mainstream English credit.
Course Requirements: All courses are dependent on enrolment. Students are required to bring their own laptop.
