We welcome prospective students and parents to attend a presentation at Sacred Heart on Wednesday evening (6:00pm) in the Auditorium where we can share information about transitioning into Sacred Heart for Grade 7. Students will have already received the information during their guided tours.
9-12 Semester 1 Letters of Intervention
Teachers of Semester 2 9-12 courses will reach out via email or phone to share concerns about progress thus far in all courses.

Final Assessments – Exams and RSTs
Grade 9 - 12 students’ examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST.
Students and Parents/Guardians can refer to the OCSB website for the Grade 9 - 12 calendar. These calendars identify the first and last day of school, PD days, Statutory Holidays, Board Holidays, and High School exams. As a general rule, it is prudent to avoid any planned student absences during the months of January and June as this is when RSTs and exams are scheduled.
Practicing Lockdowns as a School Community
Please be aware that, each year, all OCSB schools practice Safe Schools procedures, including practicing lockdown drills. An emergency situation may develop within the school that prevents the safe and immediate evacuation of students and staff. We may need, for example, to allow police to move through the building without students in the halls. In such times, schools may initiate either a ‘secure school’ or a ‘school lockdown’ protocol. We will review these expectations in the coming weeks with students and provide direction when practicing.
2026 Graduates: Graduation Awards
There is still time for graduating students to apply to school and school board awards. Please take time to review the Grad Awards Webpage (also linked on My Student Info and daily announcements) with your child and apply to applicable awards. The first deadline for awards submissions is March 22.
Summer School Preview 2026 - Registration Opens Mar 26
Dates: July 2 – July 23, 2026
Registration: Registration will officially open on March 13th, 2026.
Hours: Summer school hours: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. for in-school/in-person sessions
In-Person Reach Ahead Locations: St. Pius X Catholic High School (Central) and St. Matthew Catholic High School (East).
Credit Recovery: St. Pius X, St. Mother Teresa, St. Patrick, St. Matthew, and Holy Trinity.
Skills Builder Courses: English Numeracy & Literacy Support or Core French Literacy Support will be offered at St. Pius X and St. Matthew.
Indigenous Education: This will be offered at St. Pius X.
Conversational English & Literacy Development: Offered at St. Pius X, this is a 55-hour non-credit course for students entering Grades 9-12 who are beginner multilingual learners (ELD and ESL AO/BO) and have not yet earned a mainstream English credit.
Course Requirements: All courses are dependent on enrolment. Students are required to bring their own chromebook to the in-person sessions and have their own chromebook for the E-Learn courses. E-Learn courses require 7-8 hours of commitment for completion of school work per day (5 days per week).
